As we reel under the latest impact of the\nCoronavirus and the rapid changes to our daily lives, now is the time for us to\ncome together and find ways in which we can all serve our communities better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is time to strengthen the bonds of\nfriendship, family ties and neighbourhood relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must act not out of panic or\nself-interest but with calmness and measure and realise that whether we like it\nor not, for the very first time in our lifetimes that we as a human race are all\ntruly in this situation together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the figures being released are\nindeed sobering and downright disturbing, as some epidemiologists estimate that\n40\u201370%<\/a> of the world’s population is likely to\nget it before we are finally through the worst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SEEDS OF OPPORTUNITY<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, we must collaborate and work\nwith each other in ways that have never been done before and on the scale that\nthis virus is going to demand of us in the months ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 This\nis further echoed by Chancellor Merkel’s<\/a> statement that up to 70% of\nGermans could contract the virus and the rapidity of the spread will mean more\nand more of us are going to be faced with a very uncertain future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By now we should be urgently focusing on\ntaking action to slow the spread, so that the peak of the pandemic is delayed\nlong enough to enable our medical services to better cope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grim as this may sound – The slower the build up to the peak, the better we can weather this and the fewer who will die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is both our civic and our moral\nduty to protect our elders and those sick among us as much as we can and to\ndelay the spread for as long as we can.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On a positive note though, if\nself-isolation and social-distancing are to become a facet of our daily lives\nin the months ahead perhaps it is time to reignite those long-put off dreams\nand aspirations and  spend the time as\nproductively as possible by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Writing –<\/strong> That long dreamt of book\/novel <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
    • Learning –<\/strong> Taking that skills\/language course <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
      • Blogging –<\/strong> Starting a blog around your hobbies & interests <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
        • Cooking –<\/strong> Taking your culinary skills to the next level <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
          • DIY \u2013<\/strong> Tackling those nagging household tasks <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
            • Gardening \u2013<\/strong> Spending time outdoors <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
              • Pleasure –<\/strong> Fulfilling your dreams of playing the piano\/ guitar etc. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                • Renewing \u2013<\/strong> Lapsed social connections online<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  Remember, every crisis carries with it the seeds of opportunity and\nthis is no different.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                  So, unleash your creativity and your care,\nand let us not mark 2020 as a year just beset by global tragedy but as one that\nalso gave birth to a new collaborative, higher conscious and sustainable way of\nliving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
